Chicago recruiting jobs in high demand

New research posits that Chicago recruiting jobs are increasing in big ways.

Over the past 90 days, more than 14,000 new jobs were advertised online for Recruiters, according to WANTED Analytics™ (www.wantedanalytics.com), the leading source of real-time business intelligence for the talent marketplace. Despite rising unemployment, hiring demand has steadily increased by 20% from the same 90-day period in 2010 and by more than 130% from 2009.

Employers and staffing firms in the New York area had the largest demand for Recruiters, with about 1,300 new jobs advertised online over the past 90 days. This represents a 2% growth from the same 90-day period in 2010. Chicago saw the second highest hiring demand with 670 ads. Washington, DC was not far behind with the third largest demand and about 660 ads.

Recruiting conditions will be moderately difficult across the US, but will vary based on the available talent supply of Recruiters in each location. Of the three cities with the most demand, companies with openings for recruiting jobs in Washington, DC are likely to experience the most difficult conditions. According to the Hiring Scale™, there are approximately 9 potential candidates in the Washington, DC workforce per job ad over the past 90 days, falling below the national average of 12 candidates per opening. Due to the talent pool being relatively small in Washington, DC, employers will need to compete heavily and spend additional time sourcing candidates than many of their US counterparts. In comparison, New York falls slightly above the national average with 13 potential candidates per job ad over this period. Despite having the highest hiring demand, the talent pool in New York is almost three times that of Washington, DC. Recruiters there are likely to experience easier conditions when sourcing candidates for open positions.
