Chicago Management Jobs Workshop

Anyone with a Chicago management job, or any small business owner in the Chicago area that’s facing trouble because of the current recession will soon have access to some much needed advice.

The Chicago Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection is planning to hose a workshop from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 26 at City Hall to help small business owners succeed despite the economy. This initial workshop will cover the day-to-day realities of operating a business and keeping jobs during the current recession. “We want to see businesses in this city succeed, the workshop is packed with value that people can walk away with,” BACP Commissioner Norma I. Reyes said in a press release. “We want to provide businesses with information about the effects of today’s economy and give them motivation and expert advice to help keep them in the rink.”

The workshop will include advice from keynote speaker Jay Goltz as well as others. Goltz is a well-known Chicago entrepreneur, author and speaker known for his ability to connect with an audience by providing real life business education, motivation and take home value. Eshwar Noojibail, Vice Chair of SCORE, Counselors to America’s Small Business, also will talk about the current economy. how the stimulus package may impact businesses, what business sectors might be benefited and how small businesses can take advantage of this package.

Other speakers will include Michael A. Procaccio, president of PRO Financial, who will help businesses identify tax incentives and how to manage their finances, and a Small Business Specialist from Bank of America, who will provide banking loan information and ways businesses can approach their lender.
