M.R. Beal Hires for Management Jobs in Chicago

M.R. Beal has announced it has completed hiring for management jobs in Chicago.

M.R. Beal & Company, a leading investment banking firm specializing in municipal finance, corporate finance and equity execution, announced today the hiring of Phyllis Hollis as managing director and head of the firm’s taxable sales and trading department.

In addition, M.R. Beal announced it has hired Reginald Weaver as a senior trader in the firm’s equity sales and trading department and Osee Pierre as vice president in the firm’s municipal finance department.

Ms. Hollis will be based in M.R. Beal’s New York City headquarters and will report to COO Stanley E. Grayson. A co-founder of Utendahl Capital Group, once a high-profile minority-owned investment bank, Ms. Hollis led the firm’s securitized residential and commercial real estate transactions and helped supervise the firm’s daily operations.

Ms. Hollis most recently managed her own consulting firm called Egerie Consulting, where she also served as president. Egerie Consulting worked with a number of high-profile finance and not-for-profit institutions, helping them to construct and execute business plans and build administrative infrastructures. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hollis held mortgage-and fixed income-related positions at Smith Barney; Bear, Stearns & Co.; and Salomon Brothers.

“Throughout her career, Phyllis has demonstrated strategic-vision and leadership skills that will help us grow our already formidable taxable fixed income business,” said Mr. Grayson.

Both Mr. Weaver and Mr. Pierre will be based in M.R. Beal’s Chicago office. Mr. Weaver will report to Keith McGregory, senior vice president and head of equity sales and trading, and Mr. Pierre will report to Arthur Chan, managing director.

Previously, Mr. Weaver served as head trader at Gardner Rich, where in addition to providing institutional clients with equity execution services, he maintained a daily market analysis e-newsletter. Earlier, Mr. Weaver was a senior equity trader at William Blair & Company, and at NCM Capital Management.

Mr. Pierre previously was vice president at Siebert Brandford Shank & Co., where he worked with a number of high-profile clients and issuers including the Chicago Transit Authority and Ohio Water Development. Earlier, Mr. Pierre held positions at UBS Securities and Citigroup Global Markets.
