The Association Forum is announcing a key hire for executive jobs in Chicago.

The company is pleased to announce the addition of a new senior-level position to its full-time staff of dedicated association professionals.

Effective this month, Teri Elliott Jarvie, CMP, joins Association Forum as vice president of member programs and brings more than 20 years of experience in event, meeting and trade show management to her new role. She is responsible for enhancing diversity and educational programming content as well as meetings and member services.

“Teri will make an outstanding addition to our team and bring a new level of meetings expertise to our annual events so we can provide more programs, benefits and services to our membership,” said Association Forum President and CEO Christie A. Tarantino, CAE. “Teri is very well respected and active in the meetings industry and has an accomplished association background.

“Her combination of expertise will enable Association Forum to remain on the cutting edge so we can provide new member programming and services to the Chicagoland association community.”

Most recently, Jarvie was director of meeting and roundtable services at the Lombard, Ill.-based Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals which serves more than 9,000 members world-wide. At CSCMP, Jarvie was responsible for chapters as well as meetings and exhibits. Prior to CSCMP, Jarvie was director of meeting services at the Healthcare Financial Management Association in Westchester, Ill., and her association experience also includes meetings positions at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Rosemont, Ill., and the American Nuclear Society in LaGrange Park, Ill. Before joining the association industry, Jarvie held various positions in hotel operations in Chicago, Arlington, Texas and Orlando, Fla.

Jarvie actively serves the industry and community, currently serving on the Foundation Board of Trustees for the Professional Convention Management Association and has held numerous leadership roles at PCMA. On a local level, she’s served as the president for PCMA’s Greater Midwest Chapter.

Outside of the meetings industry, Jarvie serves on the Austin Customer Advisory Board and also served on the advisory boards for Tourism Toronto, the Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also has been an Association Forum member since 2008. Jarvie received her Certified Meeting Professional certification in 2003.

For the past decade, Jarvie has been a sought-after speaker at various meetings, conferences, and seminars, including the Academy of General Dentistry Leadership Conference, American Farm Bureau Federation Institute, Association for Convention Operations Annual Meeting, MPI Cascadia Conference, Michigan Society of Association Executives, PCMA Leadership Conference and the PCMA Annual Meeting, speaking on topics ranging from increasing event attendance to navigating event negotiations to building a better meeting to meeting industry trends.

“I am thrilled to put my extensive meetings background and comprehensive understanding of the association business to work for the Association Forum, and to identify and execute unique events and education formats,” Jarvie said. “It will be an incredible opportunity to make a difference in one of the most innovative and dynamic organizations in the association industry.”
